Vanilla Latte
Cool, creamy, and just sweet enough.

A Little About This Drink
There’s something about an iced latte recipe that makes an ordinary afternoon feel a little more enjoyable. Maybe it’s the tall glass filled with ice, the swirl of coffee and milk, or just the pleasure of having something delicious to sip while you take a break. Whatever the reason, an iced vanilla latte is one of those simple treats that’s always a good idea.
The wonderful thing is that you don’t need to visit a coffee shop to enjoy one. With just a few ingredients, you can make a smooth, creamy iced latte right in your own kitchen. You can adjust the sweetness, choose your favorite milk, and make it exactly the way you like it. And if you’re enjoying one later in the day, decaf works beautifully, too.

THE RECIPE
Prep: 5 minutes | Makes: 1 drink
Ingredients
2 shots espresso (about 2 oz), cooled slightly
¾ cup milk or favorite milk alternative
1–2 teaspoons vanilla syrup
Ice
Instructions
Brew the espresso and allow it to cool slightly.
Fill a tall glass with ice.
Add the vanilla syrup and milk.
Slowly pour the espresso over the milk.
Stir gently to combine and enjoy!
Make It Your Own
Prefer your latte less sweet? Start with just one teaspoon of vanilla syrup and add more to taste. Oat milk gives the drink a wonderfully creamy texture, while almond milk creates a lighter version. For a little extra flavor, sprinkle in some cinnamon or add a tiny drizzle of caramel. Decaf espresso works just as well if you’re avoiding caffeine.

Make It Special
Serve your iced vanilla latte in a tall, clear glass so you can enjoy the beautiful layers of coffee and milk before stirring. Add a reusable glass straw and a light dusting of cinnamon on top. For an extra-special touch, froth a little cold milk and spoon it over the drink. It’s a simple way to bring that coffeehouse experience home.
What I Use
A simple milk frother makes it easy to add creamy foam and a little coffeehouse magic to your favorite drinks.
